What Causes Headache, Sore Throat, Runny Nose And Loss Of Appetite?

I have continuing medium headache, low fever and body ache for the second day after taking paracetamol 650 mg thrice a day. I had sore throat and runny nose last week but it is completely gone now (after taking phenylephrine hcl/paracetamol/caffeine OTC tablets), except for slight nasal blockage when I lie down. Poor appetite. I also have one mouth ulcer. Rested off for about 6 hours today but am still tired.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from a viral infection that is causing low grade fever, headache and generalized symptoms as you have described.

I would advise you to take Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for 5 days for relief in the symptoms.

In addition, the medicines you have taken may cause ulcer due to vitamin B complex deficiency. Thus, you should start taking Vitamin B Complex supplements (B-Folcin) once a day for 15 days. You can also apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the ulcer 3-4 times a day.

If you do not feel better in 5 days, I would advise you to visit a physician for clinical examination and further investigations. You can continue taking Paracetamol for relief.
