What Causes Headache In A Child At Night?

My 5 year old son wakes up in the night crying complaining of bad headache. It is happening almost every night but not in the day. this morning he woke up and said his head was spinning. Here in my country if its not an emergency where they see something physical they give you pain medicine and send you home. What should i do?

I thank you for telling your concerns on HCM!

Well, there are many reasons that cause headache in a child such as traumas, stress, anxiety, infections, some kinds of food and drinks, sight problems, and more severe diseases like Epilepsy, Microadenoma, etc. So if these symptoms last for days, I would recommend you a neurologist consultation for further examinations to find out the origin of these concerns.

Best regards!
Dr Eriol.
