What Causes Headache And Pain In Spine?

Our 17 year old son developed a very bad headache last Monday. That is not typical for him. Tuesday we took him to a PA who prescribed a Zpack assuming it was an infection. It progressively got worse to where there is a lot of pain in the upper spine as well. Yesterday we went back to the PA who had us go right away to the hospital for blood work and a CT scan. We did both. His pain yesterday was very bad both head and spine. Neither the blood nor the CT scan showed any issues. They prescribed a muscle relaxer. The pain is a little better today. But still we don t know what might be the problem. Could it be a pinched nerve? There was no injury that he can remember. He is a very active, healthy, athletic young man.
