What Causes Headache And Nausea While Suffering From Anxiety?

After a cardiologist ruling out my heart last August, I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The spells would happen multiple times a week and sometimes a day. The spells stopped around December. Now they have started again within the past month. My grandmother passed away so I m sure that started them, but the passed 3 days, they have been constant. All day long. I m having one right now. My entire face feels flush, I have a headache, I have nausea, and my heart rate is slightly elevated. Is it normal for the episodes to be so frequent?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hello there, the symptoms what you have mentioned are of panic attacks which are very much common with anxiety disorder. You have not mentioned any details about your medicines. Panic attacks start abruptly and resolves after few minutes either on their own or with the help of medications. During acute panic attack, tab clonazepam can help you. You also require SNRI group of medicines for your anxiety. For this I will advise you to consult a psychitrist and start taking treatment. Moreover do some relaxation, spend around 30 minutes for exercise, maintain healthy sleep hygiene and do some meditation. This will definitely help. All the best.
