What Causes Headache And Dizziness After Taking Buspirone?

My mother is 85 years old...she takes Buspirone 10mg HCL only once per day. I may want to stop it because she seems to be experiencing some of the side effects like headache, dizziness, confusion. Do I need to ween her off by cutting it in half, or can I just stop giving it to her? She also takes sertraline 25mg once per day. Takes losartin, janumet, levothyroxine, pantroprazole

hello there, you have not mentioned the diagnosis of your mother and the reason she is on buspirone and sertraline. Coming to your question, yes there are reports of headache and dizziness with buspirone. For that you need to check on serum sodium levels of your mother. There are other better alternatives to buspirone and sertraline especially for elderly patients like escitalopram which has very less side effects. So I suggest you to consult your treating psychiatrist and get opinion on this, Don't try to change the dose of medicines yourself. All the best
