General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi there, usually Alprim (Trimethoprim) is prescribed for 3-5 days depending on the diagnosis and severity of infection.
Alprim for 3 days is given for a low grade infection or for prophylaxis to prevent infection in case of a possibility.
The other conditions which may give rise to your symptoms are-
-Kidney stones
-Urinary bladder stones
-urinary tract infection.
Hope this answers your question, thank you.
