What Causes Headache Along With Back, Neck And Chest Pain?

Was in the ER last night, serve headache, back and neck pain the chest pain. The did a lot of blood working including a ddimer all the other test came but good except the ddimer was 0.76 took me to ct for head n chest scans which came back good! I am not pregnant so why could my ddimer be high??

There are a number of different possible reason for d dimer increase.

D dimer is the break down product of fibrin which is a type of protein formed during clotting of blood.

Increases in d dimer can occur in pregnancy as you mentioned but the other causes include: (1)any form of inflammation- inflammation can be due to allergies, infection,trauma, cancer
(2)liver disease
(3)heart disease
(4)high levels of triglycerides
(5)high bilirubin
(6)high rheumatoid factor eg as in rheumatoid arthritis

It can be repeated to see if it remains elevated. The symptoms of headache and the other pain may be due to inflammation/irritation of some aspect of the body.
This may cause an increase, when you are feeling better, it should be repeated.
