What Causes Hard Inflamed Testicles While Suffering With UTI Infection?

After a Uti infection that has gone to my testicles. One was very inflamed and hard, but not twisted. I was in hospital for 5 days being fed intravenous antibiotics . This was followed by 3 weeks of tablet antibiotics and pain medication as well. Is there anything i can do apart from lay on my back, tight underwear .. the usual , to reduce the pain and solidness of this testicle . As i take other medications, anti-convulsive drugs, I prefer to take as few as possible.. thanks.

Inflamed testicles after a UTI could most likely be an orchitis.Other causes of swollen testicles though less likely in your case include: hydrocele and tumor.
A UTI can easily extend to the testes if not quickly and adequately managed.It could also be caused by an STI. The management of this condition is usually with the use of antibiotics and pain/antiinflammatory medications.Evolution on treatment is usually favorable with rapid regression of symptoms.Persistence of symptoms on medication may mean the germ is not sensitive to the antibiotic you are taking.I will suggest you get an STI work-up and a urine culture/sensitivity test if no improvement.In the meantime, continue with the following home bases measures:
-Bed rest
-Lie down so that your scrotum is elevated
-Apply cold packs to your scrotum
-Avoid lifting objects.
