Hi Doctor! I am concerned about my boyfriend's condition regarding his sudden hairloss just recently. I searched some reason for hairloss in men, and I found out that one of the factors is the testosterone level. My boyfriend and I are having sex twice almost everyday. I am afraid that it might cause him his hairloss. Is that possible? Hope you can help me.
Your boyfriend's hair loss may either androgenetic in origin or tellogen effluvium. Remember sex twice or more time in a day has no effect on hair fall or growth. Tension or stress might be the cause of telogen effluvium. If there is ahistory of male pattern baldness, then the possibilty of androgenetic alopecia is more. Otherwise tellogen effluvium would be the disease. And the causative factors may be stress, anxiety, worries, anaemia, nurptritional deficiencies, internal diseases, thyroid dysfunctions, blood diseases, trauma, surgery or some drugs.. You take him to consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.Finesteride1mg,biotin 10mg,vitamin E 400 mg and other vitamins and minerals may be given in proper doses. Apply minoxidil 10% solution twice a day. Cleanse the scalp with ketoconazole shampoo, if there is dandruff. I think your boyfriend would improve after few months treatment. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
