What Causes Hair Loss While On Medication To Improve Iron Levels?

I AM 84 YEARS OF AGE, LOOSING MY HAIR, ALSO APPEARS VERY DRY. ALSO I AM NOT ABL E TO GROW MY FINGERNAILS ANYMORE. IF THEY GET JUST A LITTLE LONG, THEY TEAR OFF VERY EASY. ARE NOT STRONG AT ALL. BEEN TAKING IRON, AS WHEN I HAD A COLON OPERATION, THEY DID BLOOD WORK, NOTICED IRON WAS VERY LOW. TOOK SEVERAL THINGS FOR THE HAIR,BUT DID NOT HELP AT ALL. ANY IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. ARE THERE SPECALIST FOR THE HAIR. ANY HELP ,I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

Hi.
As per your case history of hair fall, my treatment advice is -
1. Low iron levels can lead to hair loss.
2. Take healthy nutritious diet containing green leafy vegetables and milk.
3. Continue iron supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Use plain coconut oil and use a mild herbal shampoo.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
