What Causes Hair Loss After Child Birth?

I had my daughter two years ago. Four months post birth my hair shed. It came back again but not as thick. I went on the pill Levest about nine months after giving birth so I ve been on it for a year and half approx. I was told I can run three packets back to back and then have a break. Which I have done. My hair in the past four months is getting very thin, noticeably so. I m shedding a lot again. Is it Levest? I am taking multivitamins, hair skin and nails tablets and I m now on ginseng too. My scalp tingles. I m worried this is alopecia!!! Please help

Hi,

Levest has two components Estrogen and Progesterone. Estrogen may cause alopecia. I need to know why exactly you take levest. You should have mention your age. Test should be done:

- Blood test
- Testosterone Level
- Liver Function Test

Meanwhile eat protein and various vitamins and minerals, which is an essential prerequisite for healthy and thicker hair. Protein and B vitamins, in particular, promote thicker and longer hair.

So, include more milk, eggs, Greek yogurt (has more protein than the regular yogurt), poultry, fatty fish, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and fresh green vegetables in your diet.

Follow these remedies religiously and you will notice improvement in your hair texture and thickness in a matter of weeks. Do not worry. With all test result, please post your question again.
