What Causes Groin Pain After Sitting For A Period Of Time?

After sitting for a bit I have a sharp stabbing pain in my groin when I try to stand. Once I finally get moving it improves but does not go away. Walking up step is almost impossible as the stabbing pain is unbelievable. I have had this for a couple months and hoping it would go away.
