What Causes Grey Stool And Fatigue While Having GERD?

Hi, I was diagnosed with GERD (gastroenteritis and esophagitis) in the past. I recently had been ill with fatigue, consisent cough and my stool has ranged in grey, floating with tiny holes. I went to the doctor and he said it could be caused by my GERD but wanted to order blood work and an ultrasound to be sure. I am very concerned that my GERD is becoming worse with medicine. Do you have any suggestions or opinions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description I am of the opinion that it's not GERD. it may be colitis, cholecystitis or some other infections or may be liver problem too but definitely not GERD. I would suggest you to have liver profile,USG abdomen and if possible an x-ray Abdomen to aid in the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
