What Causes Green Stool And Diarrhea With History Of Colitis?
I have had a 14 inches from my colon removed about 4 yeas ago due to colitis. no cancer. I have had no problems since. about 4 days ago I started getting a green stool. tonight I am bent over eith pain, diarrhea, and it fells like that device is wanting to push out because I have gone so much. It started today with me having to urinate about 15 times to this.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of removal of 14 inches of colon 4 years ago without any symptoms related to this issue, but developed green stools, pain, diarrhea, felt like the devise wanting to push out, had to urinate 15 times today... The history is suggestive of gastroenteritis and UTI. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Send the urine for routine, microscopic, culture and sensitivity, this is very important before the antibiotic is started to get an appropriate reports that helps in future treatment. Tests of stool and blood. Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen. All the reports will help to get a proper diagnosis and you should get a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotic and other symptomatic and supportive treatment.
