Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Genital Itching And White Vaginal Discharge?
Sir, My wife(54) is suffering white discharge and outer vaginal itching for the past 2 years. Regular check- ups and medications have failed. She has undergone hysterectomy and removal of one ovary. Gynecologist are not able to find a solution. Please recommend a good medicine.
I understand your frustration, but we need more information. The first thing that comes to mind is candida, or yeast infection, but since you have tried many medications, I hesitate to recommend regular therapy like clotrimazole or fluconazole without first knowing what you have tried. It could be bacterial vaginosis, or sometimes infections like Chlamydia are hard to see in regular tests.
Get back to us with details on which medication you have tried and how your wife responded, as well as results from tests that the gynaecologists have run, even those that came back negative. What was the surgery for? Did the itching come and go? All these are important to help us to decide the best course of action for you.
Hope this helps you understand what we need to help you better.
Regards, Dr. Teh
