General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the gagging sensation and excess salivation post pyloric stenosis indicates possible narrowing at stomach outlet most likely. In my clinic, after thorough physical examination and history, I do recommend to undertake a videofluoroscopic endoscopy for best evaluation of the gastroesophageal as well as antrum, pylorus of stomach and 1st part of duodenum for mucosal integrity, sphincter narrowing and other details. However, till that time, when you consult your gastrosurgeon, my guidelines are:
- Chew your food very thoroughly
- Drink liquids in sessions and at intervals
- Consume frequent, small feedings
- Avoid large meals or dinner
- Avoid non veg, junk food, dairy fat till possible
- Regular walking, exercises, aerobics
- Control of body weight
- Avoid sleeping for a period of 2 hours after meals

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
