What Causes Frontal Headaches, Abdominal Distention And Bloating?

For three weeks, I have noticed having dull frontal headaches, and abdominal distention and bloating. I have lost my appetite, with a 13 pound weight loss over the past three weeks. My abdomen is tight and distended, especially after eating, even just small amounts of food. No nausea or vomiting. No fever.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of abdominal distension without fever, nausea, vomiting, increases on eating even small amounts of food and frontal headache.
The commonest causes I can think about are as follows:
Intestinal obstruction, particularly of the large intestine can cause similar symptoms without any nausea, vomiting or fever.
This can be diagnosed best by the following ways:
CT scan of abdomen and head will give a lead.
Tests of blood, urine and stool help further.
Clinical examination by a Doctor can give the final diagnosis and management.
Till then stop solid foods.
Take only liquids orally.
Till then get an X-ray of abdomen in standing position. This may suggest if there are fecoliths, intestinal obstruction or so. Ultrasonography if immediate CT scan can not be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
