What Causes Frequent Urination, Blurry Vision And High Blood Sugar Levels?
White male age 59, weight 240 height 5'11". I have test strips and a meter from a relative. Starting 12-25-14 have had to urinate often, and vision is often blurry. My blood sugar level was 390 when I awoke this morning before I ate or drank anything. I plan to see my doctor asap next week. However is there anything I should do before then?

General & Family Physician, Dr. B M Gupta's Response
Your fasting blood sugar is very high. Normal blood sugar is less than 120 mg fasting & less than 200 mg -2 hour after food. Get blood for HbA1C(normal less than 7 % ) Consult Ophthalmologist for Fundus examination (EYE). CONSULT DIABETOLOGIST FOR DIAGNOSIS OF OTHER COMPLICATIONS & TREATMENT. Change your life style. Consult dietitian.
