What Causes Frequent Urination And Missed Period With History Of Tubal Ligation?

Hi. I am 33. 3 years ago I had my tubes tied. Since then my periods have been on schedule and never late. I am now 3 days late and decided to take a test. I got a faint positive. Now I am spotting red. No signs of period coming, no cramping or breast tenderness. No signs of pregnancy other than frequently having to urinate and the missed period. Should I be concerned? Could I possibly be pregnant?

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Tubal ligation does not provide 100% contraception even after the procedure.

You have done the procedure before 3 years,so there can be possibility of reopen the ligatures of your tubes.

Here,if you had missed your periods and if test is mildly reactive then the chances of pregnancy can not be rule out.

I would advice you to go for repeat UPT testing at home with morning urine sample. You can also go for ultrasound of pelvis to rule out pregnancy.

However, the UPT method would be reliable after the 15 days of your next menstrual period date.

You can consult your nearby gynecologist for thoroughly check up.

Regards,
