What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements After Having An Ice Cream?

I ate a pot of chocolate hazelnut alpro ice-cream that contained palm oil. Hours after eating it I was having to pooh frequently that night and the next morning. Since then I have had a huge amount of bad flatulence. Everything else I have eaten has been the same as my usual diet, apart from the soya ice-cream containing palm oil. Could the palm oil be the cause of my digestive problems?

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your stomach upset.

As per your history you seems to have acute episode of food poisoning, because the ice cream is always kept on low temperature and the cause of food poisoning is rare but it can be because of the ice cream too.

You must take large amount of fluids to keep yourself hydrated because lot of fluids are lost during diarrhea and you may become dehydrated and lead to generalized body pain and electrolyte imbalance.

As food poisoning is self healing and takes not more then 24-48 hours to get you health normal. There is no need to worry except take good amount of fluids.

If the condition is persistent fore than three days consult your physician for further evaluation.
