What Causes Foul Vaginal Odor After Unprotected Intercourse?
hey. about 2 month ago, after having unprotected sex I went to get the morning after pill, but a few weeks later, I began noticing it aint smell too good down there... its been this way for weeks now an it seems to get worse with the days going by. is this normal? if not, is there anything I could buy to deal with or do I have to see a gynecologist.
In my opinion, it is advisable to see a gynecologist at this point. The foul vaginal odor could be indicative of an infection. It's a good idea to get some vaginal swabs taken to check for an infection. Then you could be started on antibiotics before it gets any worse. Also, drink a lot of water and if you start having burning while you urinate, definitely visit your doctor.
Antibiotics have their side effects, and if you take antibiotics in the absence of an infection, it could put you at risk of infections that are resistant to antibiotics in the future. So please do visit a doctor. He/she will put you on Metronidazole and Ceftriaxone.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
