What Causes Foul Smell After Pessaries Replacement?

HI, i AM 70 YEARS OLD FEMALE WHO WEARS DOUBLE PESSARIES FOR PROLAPSE OF BLADDER. THREE WEEKS AGO, DR. CHANGED THEM. IT WASN T COMFORTABLE. NOW,i HAVE A BAD SMELL. SHE CAN ONLY SEE ME 3 DAYS LATER, WOULD THAT BE AN INFECTION. NO BURNING URINE IS CLEAR, i WANDER, IF I SHOULD START CEFTIN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

you did well sharing your concerns.
I would advise you to go see a doctor as soon as possible, do not wait for 3 days. It is likely that since the pessary was uncomfortable, it might have caused some damage to the mucosa (inside lining) of your vagina. Hence, some local infection might have set in. I would not advise starting antibiotics on your own. Rather, visit your doctor as soon as possible.
Your urine isn't necessarily infected in case there is an infection of your vagina. Also, even if your urine might be infected, it does not necessarily burn, or appear turbid.
Hence, do visit your doctor soon.
