Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my doctor advised me to take Godex because of High SGPT and have fatty liver. I m taking it for two weeks now and noticed that the side effect is body odor. then now im experiencing muscle cramps in the lower legs and painful varicose veins. is it advisable to continune the medicine or is it really godex the reason for body ordor and painful veins and muscle cramps?
The muscle cramps you are having in your lower legs is not related to Godex but to varicose veins. You should get them examined by angiologist and run Doppler ultrasound to evaluate the blockage there. Should take Diosmin orally for at least 2 months, and apply Diosmin or horse chestnut gel locally.
Next, loss in electrolytes and minerals like magnesium, calcium, etc., might also cause muscle cramps. So, I encourage to take magnesium/calcium/zinc supplementation.
With regards to body odor, it is mainly due to foods/drinks you consume, and liver dysfunction you are experiencing. Not by taking Godex. Neither it causes muscle cramps.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
