What Causes Food Stuck In Wind Pipe With Choking And Coughing?

My mother while eating something always gets a bit of it stuck in her wind pipe, when this happens she starts to choke and cough intensely, we have to struck her back and let her drink loads of water to relief her, I wanna know that why this happens and why she continuously get bits of food stuck in her wind pipe and what do as when she starts choking?

Thanks for your query.
Food particles getting access to the wind pipe while eating is indicating that your mother is suffering from a neurological or local anatomical problems.
I would suggest the following:
First of all to get an ENT endoscopy to see what the problem is.
Secondly to get an opinion of a Neurologist id the cause is neurological.
If local problem to continue treatment and if there is a mass or ulcer, to get a biopsy and treat as per the reports.
MRI of hte neck and brain as may be indicated.
