Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... For the last two nights while im trying to fall asleep I feel a fluttering in my chest and then an uncomfortable feeling for a few seconds. I usually have a difficult time falling asleep so Ive been very relaxed when this happens. Is this something I need to get checked?
The fluttering and uncomfortable feeling in your chest might be due to Atrial flutter. There can be other symptoms like anxiety, shortness of breath, weakness, feeling light headed etc. This might or might not be due to some underlying cardiac disease.I advise you to go for an electrocardiogram or a holter monitoring to get a confirmed diagnosis and get treated according to it. You should follow these; 1)Do not smoke. 2)Engage in moderately strenuous physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day. 3)Eat nutritious foods that are low in cholesterol and other fats. 4)Maintain a healthy weight. 5)Control high blood pressure (hypertension) and high cholesterol.
Hope this explanation helped.Have a good life
