Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 77 years old in relatively good health. Platelets have been in the 140 range for awhile. They were 140 last June, good in September and 127 in December. Seems to go up and down. Should I be concerned. Have been going to same doctor for years. Other doctor took December s test (127). Primary doctor suggested B12, 500 mi. per day
Hi there i have gone through your query and i want to let you know the following things. 1. Platelets counts do vary day by day, it all depends on the daily requirement and use and expense according to body requirements. 2. You shouldn't be too much concerned regarding this as its above the normal range so you are fine. 3. By the age of 77 years the fluctuations are a normal thing, so worry not and live a cheerful life
Thanks
Regards Dr Varun
