What Causes Fluctuations In Mood Despite Taking Medication For Severe Depression?

My daughter has severe depression and took both Lexapro and Wellbutrin which gave her insomnia , manic episodes and extreme agitation and anxiety . Not now doctor put her on Lamictal and she s experiencing insomnia. Not sure if does working moods are still fluctuating. In your opinion what should we be doing differently

Antidepressants when switches depression to manic stage we call it as bipolar illness. For bipolar illness a mood stabilizer is prescribed which in your daughter case is Lamictal. Insomnia usually subsides with time, but if its bothersome dividing the dosage or adding a sedating drug for small duration can be beneficial.
