What Causes Fluctuating Levels Of Amylase And Lipase?

I have had fluctuating amylase and lipase on the high side for 4 years (currently 224 and 240 respectively. I am a 64 yr old male and take 40 mg of simvastatin Daily . I had an upper endo in 2012 when numbers wer approaching upper 300 and everything looked good. I suspect the amylase is up because of the simvastatin but what food cause the high lipase numbers. I have no symptoms other than nausea when I go too long without food

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Amylase is an enzyme that helps digest carbohydrates. It is made in the pancreas and the glands that make saliva. When the pancreas is diseased or inflamed, amylase releases into the blood. In a healthy individual, a normal blood amylase level is 23-85 units per liter (U/L)

A lipase test measures the amount of this enzyme in a blood sample. High amounts of lipase may be found in the blood when the pancreas is damaged or when the tube leading from the pancreas (pancreatic duct) to the beginning of the small intestine is blocked.A normal lipase level is (0-160 U/L)
