General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
There are many things that can cause fluctuating levels while on coumadin. I could have to do with his weight loss. It may be hormonal. It could be that something he is eating has Vitamin K in it without his knowing it. Some things like green tea have a lot of vitamin K. Also if he has started a new vitamin you should check to make sure it does not have vitamin K.
Regards
