What Causes Fluctuating Heart Rate And Skipped Heartbeats?

I aka 41 year old male and normally exercise several times a week, although the last few weeks I haven t been. I have recently seen my resting heart rate as low as 52. This usually occurs right before bed or when I first wake up in the morning. I am currently wearing an event recorder and was told by my doctor that the monitoring center would notify him immediately if there was anything out of the ordinary. I am wearing the monitor because I had a few episodes were my heart rate shot up to 150+ bpm for no reason. I had similar incidents 2 years ago and after wearing the event recorder for 2 weeks, having a stress test and an ultrasound of my heart was told that everything was ok. I also have frequent skipped beats. Is the low heart rate something to be concerned with? I do have a history of heart disease in my family. Thanks!

slow heartbeat can present as

feeling tired
spinning sensation
Light-headedness
Fainting

Rapid Heartbeat presents as

Skipping a beat
Beating out of rhythm
Palpitations
racing heartbeat
breathlessness
Chest pain
Dizziness
Light-headedness
Fainting or near Fainting

If any of the above symptoms are are there on a regular basis you should visit a cardiologist
other than the above some people develop bradycardia because they exercise regularly and that is a very normal phenomenon.
to be on the safer side , please lead a healthy lifestyle that would include doing exercises{which you are doing
}, eating healthy food and avoiding fats to an extent, avoiding habits like excessive smoking, tobacco use, obesity , and keeping BP under control.
very few heat disorders are genetically determined for which you need to check with your doctor bot before all that a healthy lifestyle will do half the work.
