What Causes Floaters In The Field Of Vision?
Hi. I have what appears to be a floater in my right eye. I have had them before, but this one seems different. When i close my eye, I see a round, bright dot, and if I open my eye and the light comes in at an angle, it is redish. If I look at something in the room without bright lights, I see a blueish circle. This just started today. As far as I know my eyes is not injured. Is this anything to worry about? Thank you.

1. Although floaters are small spots that drift through the field of vision but does not interfere with the sight and as such no treatment is required.
2. Floaters are mainly made of collagen protein found in vitreous humor of eye and with age these protein shrink and clump together and form floaters which means that the vitreous has pulled away from retina, [which may cause torn/detached retina,bleeding inside vitreous] and to confirm this one has to get an opinion of an Opthalmologist as early as possible
3. Even if eye injury is excluded there are other causes like diabetic retinopathy, eye disease, eye tumor, or with nearsightedness, cataract surgery,migraine headaches which can result in floaters. [and although risk is low but if happen can permanently damage your vision]
4. your Doctor may advice to gor for vitrecomy and replace it with salt solution.
