Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After trying out different diets, exercising and avoiding oily foods i still need to fart after everything i eat, If i eat breakfast and miss out on food at school thinking it will help it still happens.Even if i miss out all my meals. Its at the point where i get embarrassed in case others can smell it and its starting to really bring my confidants down. I was wondering if i can buy/get anything at the chemist in UK that will help it? that i will be able to eat without worrying
hello welcome to hcm i can understand your concern..there are several possible of persistent flatulence such as--
(1) dyspepsia i.e indigestion (2) lactose intolerance (3) fructose intolerance (4) irritable bowel syndrome (5) APD i.e acid peptic disease (6) inflammatory bowel disease specially the crohn's disease (7) malabsorbtion syndrome (8) intestinal obstruction (9) intestinal amebiasis and giardiasis (10) gastric or intestinal infection by bacteria such as h.pylori and e.coli (11) celiac disease
i would strongly suggest you that you should not take over the counter medicines and alter your dietary habbits on your own without first finding out the underlying cause and root problem for your chronically persistent flatulance, the correct approach will be to first make a precise diagnosis and then curing that underlying cause so you should discuss it with your doctor who would perform a physical examination and may ask you to get some tests done for evaluation and will prescribe you the most appropriate treatment which is required to cure your disease hope you find this information to be very helpfull take care hcm..
