What Causes Fibromyalgia Along With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

HI Doctor Rynne, My questions is: I have been diagnosed with Epstein-Barr Virus, due to unexplained low grade fevers for three plus years. Since then, I have developed debilitating symptoms, such as, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, swollen lymph nodes, etc. My doctors seem to be having trouble connecting the dots from Epstein Barr to my symptoms. All my other tests are normal. I cannot work due to the severity of my symptoms. What should I do? Thank you, Mrs. Allen

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

EBV (Ebstein Barr virus) may not cause long standing illness. Conditions like fibromyalgia will be a more possible diagnosis. Drugs like tramdol or oxycodone can be taken for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
