What Causes Fever With Vomiting And Other Symptoms?

My 28 month old son has a terrible cold, hes about 31lbs. Symptoms include: 103 fever, mucus coming from his eyes and nose, vomiting, sore throat, cough and he has slight ahsma . He is not eating but is drinking. I am taking him to his pediatrician tomorrow because fever has lasted over 72hrs and every day a new symptom pops up. he is now complaining about his 4bottom teeth? What could this be, why are his teeth now hurting and why are the symptoms multiplying?

Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
I understand your concern and 103 temp is quite high for the age. But I would like to the you at this point not to worry much because its all possible in a simple viral upper respiratory infection which needs not much of treatment other than being patient and time. All you need to do is give paracetamol round the clock, plenty of oral fluids and rest. You can use saline nasal drops if nose is blocked and congested. Teeth pain and severe body pain can be part of symptoms of viral fever. If fever lasts for another 48 hrs more, he needs a blood test and urine test jUST to rule out any other infection. Hope your child gets well soon. Take care.
