What Causes Fever, Pale Hands And Feet And Headache To A 4 Year Old?

My 4 year old daughter has a temp of 102-103 taken in ear. Her hands and feet are pale and icy cold. No cough or sore throat. She complains that her head hurts. No rashes on her body. No diarrhea or vomiting. Loss of appetite but will sip fluids. I'm alternating tylenol and motrin/advil for children. What do you think

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

Usually at the height of temperature there will be peripheral vaso-constriction and paleness is expected. Hurting head is common at height of fever.

Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If she is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active. You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F.
