What Causes Fever, Myalgia, Nausea, Lack Of Appetite, Headaches, Fatigue And Abdominal Cramps?

Girlfriend has been experiencing flash fevers over past few days, muscle aches, slight nausea/lack of appetite, headaches, fatigue, slightly lower blood pressure and lower abdominal cramping (not her stomach,) and we suspect possible toxic shock syndrome due to persistence and infrequency of symptoms. She has recently stopped using a contraceptive diaphragm due to our suspicion that this is the origin of the symptoms. Currently monitoring her and wondering if we need to get her to a hospital. What should I do here? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The symptoms your girl friend is experiencing is likely to be due to infection of the urogenital tract. Physical examination, Vaginal swab microscopy/culture, urine analysis/culture is warranted at this point. Please be advised to follow up with the urgent care. Management is with either oral/parenteral antibiotics depending on cause and severity of the infection.

Hope this answers your questions
