What Causes Fever And Stomach Pain With Eye Itching After A Swim?

My son is 4 years old. last summer his grandparents moved into a new apartment that happens to have a swimming pool. I didn't really put 2 and 2 together till the end of the summer and my friend said something to me and just two days ago he was in their pool again for the first time this year and wouldn't you know. usually about 1 to 1 1/2 days after the pool he gets a fever about 102. his eyes are itchy and he complains of his stomach hurting. Sometimes it only lasts a day or so and sometimes it will last for up to 2 weeks. what is the deal? is he allergic?

yes it could be allergy. Allergy results in two types of reactions. One is "immediate response" which ranges from redness swelling, breathing difficulty to sever symptoms while other is "delayed response" which can take hours to manifest and show similar signs like you are having now.
I get a number of patients with such symptoms at my clinic. first thing i tell them is to find the cause and prevent it. In your case there could be some insect bite or dust which caused the allergic response. You need to take care of that.
I would suggest:
> levocitrizine suspension for itching
> Paracetamol suspension for fever

Visit hospital if:
> Condition starts to deteriorate.
> Condition does not improve in 2 days.
> Breathing difficulty occurs.
> You observe any unusual symptom
