What Causes Fever And Fatigue After An Adenoid Removal Surgery?

Hi my son had adenoid removal surgery, since then, he has had a fever and excessive mucus in the nasal cavity. He has used 3 boxes of tissues in five days. His mucus in brownish gold, and heavy. He has vomited twice, and is fatigued. Is this normal after five day post-op?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes the tissues which have gone under the knife can react with inflammation and serous discharge which can present like this. But these symptoms continuing even after 5 days of surgery is something abnormal and I suggest you get back to your ENT surgeon regarding this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
