What Causes Fever After Rotator Cuff Repair?

Well I just had a rotator cuff repair on June 21st & I have no pain but am running a fever. 4 out my 5 family members currently have a bad cold. I have no runny nose but have a hoarse voice and am spitting up flim. My ears are plugged also and I have no appetite or energy. There is a little swelling beneath my shoulder but no discoloration or oozing. They had to make a 3 inch incision.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because some of your family members are having a cold and you are also congested and have horse voice, very likely the fever is due to a cold you are having.

I do not think the fever is related to the surgery for the rotator cuff repair. If the fever would be a complication of the surgery you would have redness, local heat and also increasing pain on the shoulder.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
