What Causes Feeling Of Tightness In Upper Chest?

I have a heavy, sometimes tight feeling in my upper chest. I know it s not related to my heart. I ve noticed this feeling for over a month now and don t know if it could be muscular, stress related or something worth going to get checked out. It doesn t hurt when I press on the outside of my chest. It s definitely internal.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should first rule out cardiac cause for your chest tightness.
So get done ECG. If ECG is normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause.
Your chest tightness can be due to anxiety mostly. Anxiety can also cause GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). And this can also cause chest tightness due to acid reflux.
So avoid stress and tension. Be relax and calm.
Avoid hot and spicy food, start proton pump inhibitor (for GERD). Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed to prevent acid reflux.
Don't worry much, you will be alright.
