General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Onine may experience muscle soreness or bodyache as a result of excess workout (condition known as delayed onset muscle soreness may also contribute to the symptoms).

An average individual in 60s may find it extensive to have elliptical workout 5 times a week with weight exercise upto 4 times a week which may lead to muscle soreness and bodyaches.

Few tips that may be tried are:

1. Proper stretching before and after the workout to reduce muscle injuries during the main workout.

2. Taking a break of few days to let the soreness go away and allow the injured muscles to repair.

3. Proper hydration, high protein intake and protein drinks may help in faster repair of the injured tissues.

4. Taking over the counter pain medicines like Ibuprofen or Tylenol for easing the aches.

5. Cutting down on the intensity of the workout for a while and then titrate on the higher side gradually.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
