What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat?

Hello,

I'm 18 year old female and for the past few weeks I have been feeling like there is something stuck in my throat, and when I look in the mirror everything seems fine, but yesterday I felt something hard so I looked in the mirror and at the way back bottom of my throat I could see my epiglottis, and everytime i swallow it feels like something is sticking to my throat, so I went to the E.R and they said that my epiglottis looked normal, but my throat was red and infected, and he gave my antibiotics to take 3 times a day and said I had pharyngitis. Should I be worried that I can feel my epiglottis? I've read where epiglottis could close the airway, should i be worried about that? It's really stressing me out.

Hi.
This can not be epiglottitis as it causes too much pain, severe enough to speak and swallow.
This is pharyngitis, an infection of the throat.
It will be impossible for you see your own epiglottis. So whatever is seen by you in the mirror can not be epiglottis and Do not worry about the airway obstruction as you have already must have been started on the proper antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines .
Take full bed-rest, take plenty of oral water and fluids, keep rehydrated.
