What Causes Feeling Discomfort While Urination?

My husband is in discomfort due to the need to urinate (he has enlarged prostate).....he has had episodes like this many times in the past, which usually ended up having to go the emergency room or to meet his doctor at his office to have bladder drained. he just took a Flomax but is still in a lot of discomfort, is there something we can do at home that might instigate some relief from this. thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the prostate is preventing the out flow of the urine then there is no immediate treatment at home that would help.

He would need to either see his doctor or go to the ER.

In addition to the regular use of his flomax, he can consider the use of avodart ( dutasteride) or finasteride to see if it helps with his prostate.

I hope this helps
