What Causes Fatigue And Upset Stomach With Pain And Cramping?

Phi I m a 28 yr old female. Currently taking the ocp. I have had increasing fatigue over the last month, finding it very difficult and tired all the time. I also suffer from insomnia. I have had an upset stomach with pain & cramping over the last week. Blood tests indicate low magnesium but High gamma gt. I rarely drink alcohol and have never been a substance abuser.

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of being 28 and have been taking OCP, have increased fatigue over the last month, tired all the time. There is insomnia, upset stomach with pain and cramping over the last week. Blood tests show low magnesium and high Gamma GT but rarely take alcohol.
OCP can raise Gamma GT even in presence of normal liver functions. Low magnesium is due to low in diet.
This can cause cause fatigue and the hormonal changes can cause or add on to the existing problems.I would advise you the following:
Clinical evaluation by a Doctor and other lab tests if not done till now.
Have multivitamin rich in magnesium, this being trace element, you need minimal quantity.
Also watch for anemia and hypo-proteinemia. If present get it corrected.
Think of stress and/or anxiety a the commonest causes either instigating or enhancing the problems.
You would then be given proper treatment.
