What Causes Fatigue And Joint Pain While Having Elevation In SED Rate?

I started with unexplained fatigue, joint pain, slow weight gain and unable to lose it. Also some bloating and some brain fogginess. I went to my doctor and was checked for Lyme which came up neg. My thyroid was checked with TSH with FT4 Reflex came up WNL but at the low end of normal. My SED rate was elevated so the doctor referred my to a Rheumatologist but I can t get in for 3-4 months. I m wondering if there is any other test I can have my doctor run in the meantime? I m a very active person but just feel drained.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may also want to check your full blood count to see if it is normal.

A low hemoglobin, indicating anemia, would also cause fatigue.

The sed is an inflammatory marker and goes up if there is an inflammation/infection in the body but the exact cause of the increase would need to be determined.

I hope this helps
