What Causes Fast Heartbeat And Abdominal Pain In A Child?
My 9 year old daughter complains of abdominal pain most evening and I have noticed that at times her heart starts to race for no reason. She tells me that it is always fast. If I call I Doctor should I ast for a CAT scan of her stomach? Also when we go to the doctor her heart rate seems fine but at home I have even put my Fitbit on her and her read is high. How do I have the doctors catch this?
If the heart rate is increased at other times and you wished for her doctor to note this, she may need either an ECG or holter. A holter is essentially a 24 hour ECG which would be able to assess her heart rate over a 24 hour period.
A ct scan may not be necessary to assess the abdomen, the need would be based on the symptoms and examination findings.
I hope this helps

What Causes Fast Heartbeat And Abdominal Pain In A Child?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic It is possible that the increased heart rate may be due to the abdominal pain. Pain can cause an increase in heart rate. If the heart rate is increased at other times and you wished for her doctor to note this, she may need either an ECG or holter. A holter is essentially a 24 hour ECG which would be able to assess her heart rate over a 24 hour period.
