Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! Regarding your concern I would like to explain that heart failure (that is your diagnosis, as yuo have an ejection fraction of around 20%) has an important impact on life expectancy. It increases the potential of life-threatening arrhythmia and influence on everyday activity by limiting physical involvement. The most important strategy is to prevent triggering factor for heart failure decompensation, and promptly treat occurring arrhythmia, as well as continuing the most appropriate maintenance prescribed therapy. Periodic medical follow up is of atmost importance.
At the moment you don't experience shortness of breathing, and no evidence of arrhythmia, you don't have to worry about. There is not any medical emergencies.
Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
