What Causes Fainting After A Deep Tissue Massage?

Hello my husband is a heart patient and coming up on 10 years now. Been haveing trouble with left shoulder Dr sent him to therapy, exercises on left shoulder there and home and deep tissue message. On friday he passed out no warning just out.he came to with her yelling for help, the deep message was on shoulder to ear and neck ,Is there any way that could of put him out like that. I’m calling his Dr Monday,want to hear what you have to say .thank you for your time.he is afraid

The way you are describing the episode, there is strong possibility that he was having vagal nerve stimulation. Vegus nerve is one of the cranial nerves. It runs in the neck. So there is strong possibility of vagal nerve stimulation during massage which is causing this passing out episode. So better to be careful from next time in massage.
