What Causes Eye Pain And Dizziness Upon Wearing Spectacles?

I recently got a new eyeglass prescription. I see fine with my new glasses, but after wearing them for just a few minutes I have these symptoms (see below). These symptoms last for from fifteen minutes to an hour. This is my second pair of glasses; my first pair did the same thing, so I took them back. I got a new eye exam, and I have been back to the eye doctor. He is telling me that my prescription is spot on. I also bought different lenses, thinking that this may be the cause of my problems. This is a real problem because I can’t see without my glasses, but my glasses are making me sick. I get dizzy My eyes start to hurt My neck tightens up I feel nauseous

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common with new glasses. It is an adaptive response to new lenses. Nothing much to worry and it will settle in few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
