What Causes Extremely Pale Appearance And Tiredness?
My husband is 65, retired last year from a stressful job. 10 months later he still appears t o he extremely pale and is often tired. His iron levels were tested low last year and he was asked to undergo an endoscopy and colonoscopy which showed no problems bleeding. His next blood test showed iron levels in the normal ramge. He has a family history of some type of lymphoma(?) that is treated with iron infusions? I m concerned about him but am unsure how to help him feel better.
Hello, thanks for the query. by looking at your husband's age and paleness , should rule out any malignancy. all the gastro intestinal tract malignancies are can not be diagnosed with endoscopy and colonoscopy... i suggest you to do capsule endoscopy or if you are in developing countries you can do barium studies.. can try dewarming by giving single dose of anti helmenths, because hook warm infestation can cause anemia and low iron levels and about the lymphoma history you had given it looks like thalassemia which can be treated by iron infusion in some minor types,, Hope this will help feel free to ask further
